Oct. 5 letter from Superintendent Williams regarding COVID-related closure

Dear Tri-Valley community,

I wanted to take a moment to update you regarding the school campus closure following a positive COVID test by one of our staff members.

Eleven (11) staff members and 20 students of Tri-Valley Secondary School have been referred to Sullivan County Public Health in response to the positive COVID-19 case at the school.  Sullivan County Public Health has initiated contact tracing procedures. These tracers will contact these 31 individuals before the end of the day today, or tomorrow, to inform them of their possible exposure and that what next steps they will need to take. While this occurred at the Secondary School, our campus schools are physically connected and we do share staff between them, so the closure was necessary out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of all of our staff and students.

As we receive more information we will continue to update the community as to our status. Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters!

Thanks and be well!

Mike
