The Tri-Valley Central School District is pleased to welcome our new Elementary School Assistant Principal, Mr. Devin Lamar.
Mr. Lamar’s certifications include a professional teaching certificate in Social Studies, an initial teaching certificate in Students with Disabilities, as well as School Building & School District Leader. In addition to this, he was the first person in Marist College history to graduate with his specific degree combination, which led to him winning the Teaching Assistantship Program In France Award, through the Fulbright committee and French Ministry of Education, where he taught English to French children for a year. He comes to us from Warwick Valley Central Schools.
Mr. Lamar has worked in both elementary and secondary schools, as well as in a residential treatment facility focused on helping elementary age children suffering from trauma, abuse and emotional disorders. He enjoys training in mixed martial arts and loves Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and likes to hike and spend time with his dog Sadie.
He has already become an active member in several TVCSD projects, including the new Social Emotional Learning committee. He is eager for the school year to begin so that he can learn, help and support our amazing students, families and community.
Welcome to our team, Mr. Lamar!
