The Tri-Valley Central School District Board of Education announces the retirement of Superintendent Erin Long, effective July 31, 2026. After four years of dedicated leadership at Tri-Valley and more than three decades in education, Ms. Long will conclude a distinguished career devoted to students, staff, and the broader school community.
During her tenure as superintendent, Ms. Long has worked tirelessly to strengthen the culture, collaboration, and instructional focus of the district. Under her leadership, Tri-Valley embraced the unifying theme of “Many Bears, One Den,” fostering a strong sense of shared purpose among students, staff, families, and community partners. Her work helped guide the district in aligning instruction, expanding opportunities for all students, and reinforcing a culture rooted in care, connection, and high expectations.

Throughout her career, Ms. Long has emphasized that family comes first, a principle she has carried with her both personally and professionally. As she enters retirement, she looks forward to spending more time with her loved ones and focusing on the people who have supported her throughout her career.
“Serving as superintendent of Tri-Valley has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished together and deeply grateful for the dedicated staff, supportive Board of Education, and wonderful students and families who make this district such a special place,” said Long.
The Board of Education will begin working closely with Ms. Long in the coming months to ensure a smooth and thoughtful leadership transition ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.
