Superintendent Search Process Update

The Tri-Valley Board of Education is pleased to share an update on the superintendent search process. As previously communicated, the application period closed at the end of April, and the process has now moved into the interview phase.

In March 2026, the Board appointed Sullivan BOCES Interim District Superintendent Michael Rullo as search consultant. In this role, he provides guidance throughout the process, including supporting the development of leadership criteria, coordinating recruitment efforts, and assisting with the identification of finalists. This partnership helps ensure a thorough and well-structured selection process supported by experienced educational leadership.

We are pleased to report that a strong and highly qualified pool of candidates has been received. During June, initial interviews will be conducted with selected candidates in accordance with established procedures. Following these interviews, finalists will be selected to advance to the next stage of the process.

Finalists will participate in a second round of interviews with the Board and will also take part in a public community forum. At this forum, candidates will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, respond to questions, and engage directly with members of the school community. Finalist names will be shared with the public in advance of the forum and prior to the Board’s final selection.

Community input continues to play an important role in the process. Feedback gathered through the community survey regarding the desired characteristics of the next superintendent has helped guide the review of applications and will continue to inform interviews and decision-making. Additional opportunities for input will be provided as the process continues. The community forum is scheduled for June 30th, and all community members will be invited to attend, meet the finalists, and share feedback with the Board.

Questions or comments regarding the search process may be directed to the search consultant, Michael Rullo, at (607) 335-1233 or michael.rullo@scboces.org

The Board of Education appreciates the continued support and engagement of the Tri-Valley Central School District community and looks forward to welcoming the next superintendent for the 2026–2027 school year.
