On October 6, 2025, the Sullivan County School Boards Association held its annual dinner and meeting at the Villa Roma, honoring educators and staff from across the county.
We are thrilled to share that Mrs. Keri Smith was recognized as Tri-Valley’s Outstanding Educator of the Year, and Mrs. Heather Bonnell was honored as Tri-Valley’s Outstanding District Employee.
Keri Smith was recommended for the Outstanding Educator of the Year award for her extraordinary dedication, compassion, and creativity. Her classroom is a place of joy, curiosity, and belonging, where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow academically and socially. Keri has collaborated with colleagues to create an inclusive, integrated learning environment, and her positive spirit and innovative approach make her not only a gifted educator but also a role model for her peers.
Heather Bonnell was recognized as Outstanding District Employee for her exceptional contributions to the District, including her leadership in the Curriculum and Instruction Office and her efforts in onboarding new staff. Heather played a key role in creating the District Employee Handbook and consistently supports her colleagues and students alike. Beyond her professional achievements, she also demonstrates remarkable personal generosity, volunteering her time to support students and families in countless ways.
The evening also included a special acknowledgment of retiring board members. Thank you to Mr. Tim Dymond for your years of service to both Tri-Valley and the Sullivan County School Boards Association.
Congratulations again, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Bonnell, your Tri-Valley family is incredibly proud of you!
