Dear Tri-Valley Community,
As you know, the Tri-Valley Board of Education is engaged in the process of searching for our next superintendent of schools. The Board is actively working through the interview process; thus, we thought it would be a good time to provide an update to our school community on where things stand. We also want to invite you to a community forum and ask for your input as we prepare for the forum.
You will be pleased to know that we received a strong pool of candidates from which we will likely be able to choose an outstanding educational leader to serve as our next superintendent. The Board is now engaged in the interview phase of the process. After the initial candidate interviews with the Board, finalists were chosen and will engage in a second interview with the Board. The last step in the process will be for each finalist to provide a presentation to our school community at a forum. While candidate information will be kept confidential through the first two rounds of interviews with the Board, we will publicize the finalists prior to the community forum and before the Board makes its final decision.
The community forum with the finalists is designed so that our community can meet the candidates and provide feedback to the Board. Your participation in this process is important to the Board of Education, so please mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Tri-Valley Auditorium. We anticipate there will be two finalists – one will present at 6:00 p.m. and the other at 7:15 p.m. During the forum, each candidate will take approximately twenty-five minutes to provide a presentation introducing themselves and their candidacy. Then, they will answer questions for about twenty-five minutes, moderated by our search consultant. Upon conclusion of the Q&A session, community members present will be able to provide feedback to the Board through a survey. The Board will use this feedback from the community in making its final decision on the successful candidate. During the forum, the community is invited to observe, however there will be no direct interaction between the candidate and the audience.
The Board is interested in learning the types of questions our community would like to hear answered by the candidates during the community forum and is using a survey to gather this information. The survey can be found here: https://forms.gle/4sNVwPKEySmVRdj97. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to fill out the survey. Please be reminded that the survey is intended for Tri-Valley Central School District residents, students, and school district employees. The survey will close on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
About one week prior to the community forum, we will send out a reminder of the event. We will also provide a bio and picture of each finalist so that you will know who is presenting and who might be our next superintendent.
We thank you for your continued support of the Tri-Valley Central Schools and we look forward to having our new superintendent in place for the 2026-2027 school year!
Sincerely,
The Tri-Valley Board of Education
