The first school in the area was taught by Revolutionary War soldier Christopher Darrow. As the area’s population increased each local hamlet provided a schoolhouse for their children. In 1946, multiple schoolhouses consolidated into a Union Free District. In 1958, Tri-Valley became a central school district.
The Tri-Valley school building is a Pre-K to 12 facility all on one campus, which also includes the Iatauro Sports Complex, an administration building, a maintenance building, and two greenhouses.
Through the years, Tri-Valley has benefited from the work of many Board of Education members, administrators, faculty, and staff. Strong community support is a hallmark of the district.

To Opt-Out of alerts
All families will be called whenever there is a delay or cancellation. To opt out of these calls, send a note to the district’s Attendance Office. The note should say:
“I do not want to be called if there is a 2-hour delay or a cancellation.”
The note must also include:
-
- Your signature
- Your name (printed)
- Your phone number
- Your child’s name and grade
As always, parents are the best judge of the road conditions in your area. If you do not feel it is safe for your child to come to school, you may make that decision.
