The first school in the area was taught by Revolutionary War soldier Christopher Darrow. As the area’s population increased each local hamlet provided a schoolhouse for their children. In 1946, multiple schoolhouses consolidated into a Union Free District. In 1958, Tri-Valley became a central school district.
The Tri-Valley school building is a Pre-K-12 facility all on one campus, which also includes the Iatauro Sports Complex, an administration building, a maintenance building and two greenhouses.
Through the years, Tri-Valley has benefited from the work of many Board of Education members, administrators, faculty and staff. Strong community support is a hallmark of the district.
Our Vision
Tri-Valley Central School is the foundation of our community. We will continue to build a school community with deep roots that will enable our children to excel in a changing world and that will enable our staff to continue to grow professionally. We will make available to our community a safe school facility that will be a place to support family activities through school activities and functions. Our focus will support community values and our educational plan will produce global thinking students who will be effective communicators and lifelong learners.
Closings, Delays and Early Dismissals
In the event of weather related school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissals the following notifications will be provided:
- On the front page of this website
- By email to those who sign up for the News Subscription
- By phone to all parents that did not “opt out”
- On the district’s official Facebook page
- On Twitter @TVCSDTech
To opt-out of alerts
All families will be called whenever there is a delay or cancellation. To opt out of these calls, send a note to the district’s Attendance Office. The note should say:
“I do not want to be called if there is a 2 hour delay or a cancellation.”
The note must also include:
- Your signature
- Your name (printed)
- Your phone number
- Your child’s name and grade
