Action Towards Independence offers an array of fun and interactive student groups for children, teens, and young adults.

Elementary Social Skills

For students in grades K-5

These informative sessions cover topics that promote positive behavior, improve interactions with others and build confidence. A fun art activity will be a part of each session. Topics will include manners, listening, hygiene and emotions. Parents are required to attend the sessions with their child to offer guidance and support.

Middle School Social Skills

For students in grades 5-8

These fun and informative online sessions cover age-appropriate topics for pre-teens and teens that promotes positive behavior, respectful communication, and building confidence. Meetings are held socially via Zoom, and parents should monitor their child’s participation. An art activity is part of each session. Topics include being considerate, appropriate words and touch, managing emotions and coping skills

Life Skills for Teens and Young Adults

For teens and young adults age 13 – 31

Life Skills group focuses on the development and enhancement of independent living skills to assist with the transition to independent adulthood, including cooking, cleaning, finances and budgeting, job readiness and self-advocacy.

  • Meets: 5-6 p.m. Fridays
  • Where: On-site ATI’s Monticello location
  • Recreation Night: 5:30-8:30 p.m. every fourth Friday
